2nd GLOBAL PULTRUSION CONFERENCE
After the success of the First Global Pultrusion Conference held in 2007 in Baltimore, it was decided to have a second version in 2009. Delegates could vote on the venue for the next event and a majority choose Sydney Australia. However, since then a dramatic change in the exchange rate between the US$ and other currencies has occurred. For this reason the Second Global Pultrusion Conference will again be held in Baltimore USA on May 21-22, 2009, by and for the Global Pultrusion Industry The conference is supported by SAMPE and coincides with the SAMPE 2009 Conference and Exhibition, Baltimore, USA – May 19-21, 2009. The 2-day conference aims to gather the Global Pultrusion Industry, one of the fastest growing Composite Industry sectors. About 300 companies worldwide are producing 0.5 million tons of composite profiles, representing US$ 1.2 billion value. The average annual growth of the industry ranges between 5% and 10% depending on market sector, world region and application area.
"COMPOSITE PROFILES - ENGINEERING & DESIGN"
One of the major obstacles for the use of Composite Profiles is the limited availability of quality Engineering Data and Design Criteria.
Based on these premises the theme for the Second Global Pultrusion Conference was selected and will be explored and discussed during this conference.
In line with this theme, the following subjects will be discussed in the various conference sessions:
- Structural Profiles standardization
- Engineering data
- Design criteria and standards
Other sessions address more traditional subjects such as:
- Academic and Research projects

"BRANDT GOLDSWORTHY PULTRUDER OF THE YEAR AWARD"
Again in 2009 there is the opportunity for delegates to choose the Pultruder of the Year. Bob Sweet from Creative Pultrusions, USA was the winner of the "2007 Brandt Goldsworthy Pultruder of the year 2007" Award. Details will be published on the Brisk Events website.
CONFERENCE VENUE TREMONT GRAND & PLAZA
The Global Pultrusion Conference will be held at the Mirror Room of the Tremont Grand building, adjacent to the Tremont Plaza Suites Hotel. A preferred room rate for the Global Pultrusion Conference has been negotiated by the organizers. Booking must be done by using the pre-registration form. Because of the coinciding SAMPE 2009 Conference and Exhibition in the Baltimore downtown area, delegates are strongly advised to make their room reservation early, but no later than April 1st, 2009.A Country & Western style dinner is included in the conference package. Accompanying partners are welcome.
