Safe transport of passengers in mass transit is a major concern of all railway companies in Europe. It has become one of the most debated items by press and politicians after some major incidents happened over the last years. The behaviour of passengers in mass transit appears unpredictable under critical conditions, however it is found in studies that passengers behaviour can be predicted and influenced by the correct design of rolling stock, lay-out of tunnels and stations, and organised staff and management training.
The Conference Passenger Safety in Mass Transit addresses these topics and more.
The Conference Passenger Safety in Mass Transit will be organised alongside the exhibitions Eisenbahn Technologie 2001 (ET 2001) and Intertunnel 2001, organised by Mack-Brooks Exhibitions that will take place from 5-7 December in Messe Basel, Switzerland.
ET 2001 is the 6th International Exhibition of Equipment, Systems and Services for Main Line and Urban Railways. Intertunnel 2001 is the 5th International Exhibition for Tunnelling and Underground Excavation.
The subjects of both exhibitions are closely related to the topics that will be discussed at the Conference Passenger Safety in Mass Transit. Therefore, attending the conference and visiting both exhibitions will be an indispensable combination for professionals in the industry of railways, underground transport and tunnelling.
The conference will take place at the Osaka-Samarkand Conference Room of Kongresszentrum Messe Basel in Switzerland.
The conference is aimed at persons employed at and/or interested in:
Railway (coaches) manufacturers
